Common Questions

Will I lose my water if I don't use it?

Does conserving water affect my water service?

No. There is no minimum water usage requirement for Keeler customers, and conserving water will not, by itself, result in loss of service.

Why were water meters installed?

Meters allow the District to better understand community water use, identify leaks, improve system planning, and make informed decisions about future infrastructure needs.

Will my water rates change because of the meters?

No. Current flat-rate charges remain in effect. No volumetric rate structure or other rate change has been approved.

Who is responsible for fixing leaks?

The District is responsible for maintaining the water system up to the water meter. Property owners are responsible for plumbing and water lines on the customer side of the meter.

What if I think my water use is unusually high?

Start by checking for common leaks around your property. If you still have questions, contact Provost & Pritchard for assistance interpreting your meter data or understanding your water usage.
